2025 Event Season Wrap Up!
It has been another incredible year here at Kennolyn! From a couple’s wedding day to corporate retreats, we have had the pleasure of hosting some wonderful events in 2025. We feel so lucky to be able to welcome people from all over the world to enjoy a day (or weekend) among the redwoods! Let’s recap our year!
February saw the start of our season with a corporate party at the Hacienda. Utilizing our Soiree package, the company hosted a fun night with food, live music and dancing. The guests didn’t want the night to end and ask for multiple encores from the band!
April kicked off our wedding season with Chelsea and Dominic at Hilltop Hacienda. Their private vows pre ceremony brought equal tears and laughter before they officially said I do in our Redwood Grove. From the Booth Bus to the packed dance floor, these two brought all the fun for their guests! April also welcomed Danika and Kyle, who opted to use her grandfather’s sword to cut their cake and Karla and Anthony, who added their favorite color of red to every detail. The end of April saw back-to-back weddings, starting with Sarah and Luke, who despite the drizzly day, brought the joy with colorful florals, custom-made stickers by the bride and a cotton candy cart! April ended with Wendy and Albert saying I do more than 20 years after meeting for the first time in elementary school. Their Lego guest book was a huge hit, with guests getting to make their likeness in Legos!
May kicked off at Hilltop with Fernanda and Ashkan, who chose the lawn for their ceremony, held a traditional money dance and gave away coffee mugs filled with goodies to their guests! Hilltop also hosted Caroline and Jake with a Redwood Grove ceremony and a musician.
Our first weekend wedding retreat at Stone Creek Village was Anne and Peter, who brought in their favorite food items, including St, Elmo’s cocktail sauce from the TV show Parks and Rec and cookies from their favorite New York bakery. Only friends stayed on site for Tela and Jack’s wedding weekend, and the couple brought all the activities with a coffee cart and pool volleyball. Vybe Society kept everyone on the dance floor while a custom Booth Bike captured the fun! Katie and Avatar’s weekend guests enjoyed campfire in the amphitheater and Marianne’s Sweet Surf for their wedding dessert. Kelli and Taylor closed out May (and our Spring Stone Creek season) with a 3-day retreat that included field games and a silent disco after party on the field (lighting tent and all!),
Summer brings our camp season and finds us only hosting weddings at Hilltop Hacienda. Jessica and Amir kicked off our summer season with tradition representing both of their family roots. Their lawn ceremony included a Sofreh and Persian blessings, the groom’s sister performed a traditional Persian knife dance before the cake cutting and both bride and groom performed traditional dances to wow their guests. Renee and Bijan also embraced his Persian heritage with a Sofreh that was moved to the reception space so guests could admire it all night.
July welcomed Vanessa and Will for their wedding filled with lots of love and a ton of fun! The couple looked stunning, especially with the groom donning his military uniform. Private vows preceded their Redwood Grove ceremony before guests were treated to churros and the bride as ‘guest DJ’ during the reception! Kennolyn was also chosen to host a Celebration of Life in July, where we were honored to help family and friends say goodbye to their loved one.
August kicked off with Mckenna and Will’s Hilltop affair. The couple’s beloved dog joined in on portraits and Mckenna carried photos of loved ones no longer here on her bouquet down the aisle to her husband. Ashley and Steven said I do in front of the lawn fountain after keeping it traditional with no first look. The groom surprised his bride with his custom blue suit and classic car for photos. The dance floor remained packed all night! Mariah and Miles welcomed a small, but meaningful group of family and friends to watch them say I do, greeting them with a champagne welcome before their Redwood Grove ceremony. The bride slipped into a second dress as the dance floor opened! August at Hilltop ended with back-to-back weddings beginning with Noelle and Kala, who had guests sign a surfboard as their guest book, enjoyed a family friend playing guitar for cocktail hour and a saxophone player joining the DJ for dancing. Sunday brought Katie and Steven, who had her dad play guitar during their first dance!
August at Stone Creek saw the camp season end and wedding weekends return, with Lia and David kicking it off. These two are huge into EDM music and flew in their favorite DJ to bring all the vibes to their party!
September proved once again to be our busiest month though Hilltop only welcomed Vivian and Tyler, who kept their families involved throughout the night with a traditional elder dance, a family dance performance and line dances.
Eliza and Reece’s fun packed 3-day retreat opened September at Stone Creek Village. A game of assassins kicked off the fun on Thursday night while Friday’s welcome dinner was 80’s prom themed. Weekend activities included volleyball, basketball and pickleball tournaments, arts and crafts, Slipball (a kickball/slip n slide combo) and a trail run led by the bride. The big surprise was a mechanical unicorn right off Town Square! The wedding was beautiful and followed by a karaoke after party in the lodge.
Sasha and Cody’s wedding weekend found their guests enjoying the wonder of the redwoods, roasting marshmallows and toasting to the couple before they headed off to Africa for their honeymoon! Carolyn and Dave made sure their weekend guests were entertained in the after-hours with his band.
Cindy and Matt took full advantage of their adults only camp weekend with yoga, tie-dye, field game t-shirts and a pickleball tournament to determine their flower girl and ring bearer. The bride surprised the guests with a custom-made cookbook she designed, created and produced with family recipes. Churros for dessert preceded the after party with beer pong tournament!
October opened at Stone Creek with Kelly and David’s carefully curated weekend that included a Western themed welcome party and lighting backdrop for the wedding reception. The bride surprised her guests with a drag performance at Sunday brunch! Rachel and Ben had competition and fun as their main themes for their 3-day weekend. Guests got to help with floral arrangements for the wedding before Color War kicked off! The bride and groom led pre-selected teams through water balloon and egg toss, sack races, basketball, volleyball and pickleball tournaments before enjoying a live band for Friday’s welcome dinner followed by campfire. Their heartfelt wedding was followed by a rocking after party (family friend DJ and all!). Our last wedding weekend of the year was Rachel and Tyler’s chill, but love filled weekend that included his cousin handling all the florals like a pro! We closed Stone Creek’s season with a wonderful corporate event filled with team building activities like ice baths, our climbing wall and breakout sessions.
October at Hilltop hosted our only Friday wedding of the year for Lauren and Manuel with The Booth Bus, stunning sunset photos and sake toasts. La Risa and Chloe celebrated their vows with family and friends from all over, toasted with a champagne tower and spent part of the night gazing happily at their guests having a ball on the dance floor, before they joined in! Hilltop closed it’s October with Sherrill and Ryan, who celebrated joining their families with a tea ceremony before the Western ceremony, a 1st look in the bride’s second dress and lots of bubbles for the kids! October also saw us hosting our second Celebration of Life, which included a photo booth of their loved one’s favorite hats and sunglasses to honor her joy.
November found us hosting weddings only at Hilltop Hacienda and kicking it off were Linor and Danny. The fun started with a magician and dance break during cocktail hour, before a number of beautiful speeches and the Hora opened the dance floor. Galina and Mo brought non-traditional for their wedding with an “out dress the bride’s” theme, extended cocktail hour featuring arts and crafts, custom mocktails and ending the night with dinner. Kimberly and Mike were our final couple of the season and they brought family tradition to Kennolyn with an elaborate tea party in Casa de Caldwell. The couple were sent off with a bubble gun exit!
