Can I take a tour of the venue?

Absolutely! We accommodate tours year-round because we believe it is a very important part of finding the perfect venue for your event. Get in touch with us to schedule a visit

Does it cost less to book an event during the week versus the weekend?

We reserve our venues for certain events during the week. Weddings are only offered on Saturdays, and Sundays. You can reserve the space for meetings, some retreats, and special events during the week, and fees may be lower than those on the weekends. Reach out to us directly for more details

What is exclusive use?

Unlike a hotel, Kennolyn is a private venue with you as our only client on your special day. Because yours will be our only event, our staff will be 100% focused on you and on making your event everything you want it to be. Very few event venues can offer this level of privacy and personal attention.

What is the process of booking an event at Kennolyn?

As soon as you contact us to express interest, one of our full-time coordinators will reach out to you with more information suited to your particular inquiry. It’s always a good idea to visit in person, so you can get a sense of the space and all of its possibilities. Once we place a hold on the date you request, your deposit and signed contract are due within seven days.

Is shuttle service available?

A private shuttle service is available for hire. Ask your coordinator for more information or see our Preferred Vendor List for contact information.

How much parking is available?

Our Hilltop Hacienda venue has more than 100 parking spaces, and our Stone Creek Village has 40 spaces available.

Can I bring my own food and beverages?

Guests are required to select a catering package and a beverage package from our range of options. You can cater cake and desserts with an outside vendor. See our list of recommendations here.

Is Kennolyn eco-friendly?

Kennolyn is privately owned by a family that supports the environment. We own 450 acres in the Santa Cruz Mountains, and 75% of it is undeveloped. We actively recycle and compost almost 100% of our garbage, including all food, flowers, and paper products. We also strive to use non-disposable products whenever possible.

What are the service fee and sales tax amounts?

*A 20% service fee is added to catering and beverage prices. *Sales tax, currently at 9%, is added to all prices. Per California sales tax code, all service fees are subject to sales tax.

What are my fees for a wedding at Kennolyn?

There are fee structures for each of our wedding venues; Stone Creek Village has weekend lodging for up to 120 guests.

Hilltop Hacienda Estate Wedding

$11000 Wedding Package Fee + $119.95** per person for all food and beverages

Stone Creek Village Wedding Weekend Retreat (with lodging for 2 nights, up to 120 guests)

$11000 Wedding Package Fee + $119.95** per person for all food and beverages  +  $85.95** per person for rehearsal dinner, + $5500 Facility Fee for exclusive use of Stone Creek Village.

Minimum guest count is 50 people staying for the weekend, maximum 120 (or 150 if using bunk bed cabins). Guests pay $300** per person for two night’s lodging and breakfast/lunch/brunch which is a great deal for lodging in the Santa Cruz area!

Do you have a backup plan in case of rain or other weather events?

Our venues both have indoor and outdoor spaces, and because we are an all-inclusive facility, we can convert indoor areas in case of rain or other inclement weather. Rest assured, our full-time coordinators will monitor all plans and conditions closely before and during the event.

Where will I get ready before the wedding?

Your bridal party is welcome to arrive on site from 10am on your  wedding day to get ready and begin taking photos. We have a changing room for men and another for women.

How late can the reception continue?

A County-Wide Sound Ordinance restricts amplified music after 10:00 PM. All events at the Hilltop Hacienda end at 10:00 PM. Any guests staying at the Stone Creek Village can gather indoors in the lodge throughout the evening, even after loud music is restricted

We recommend a list of vendors because we know they all provide excellent services and work well in our venue. You are also welcome to book your own vendors, however.

Am I required to have a wedding coordinator?

When you book with Kennolyn, our coordinator services are included in the package. Our two full-time, highly experienced coordinators will be involved from start to finish and dedicated to making your wedding dream a reality. Their amount of involvement in your special day is up to you, but our clients tend to enjoy how reassuring their attention is. Some clients who have a specific vision for their day, or would prefer not to be involved in any planning, also hire a wedding planner.

Can I have only my reception at Kennolyn if my ceremony will be off site?

We do offer a reception-only package that omits the ceremony fee with a $1000 discount from the $11000 Wedding Package.

Is the wedding rehearsal included at no extra cost?

Yes, your wedding ceremony rehearsal with your professional wedding coordinator is included in the package fee

What is the benefit of a combined food and beverage package?

We designed our well-rounded catering options to make it easy for you to plan your event. With a package, you are guaranteed unlimited beverage service—regardless of how much your guests drink—and, most importantly, there are no financial surprises at the end of your wedding. Our bartenders are provided at no additional charge. We are happy to accommodate non-alcohol drinkers, and we offer non-alcoholic packages for guests under 21 as well as for an entire event

Do you offer vegetarian or vegan menus?

Our menu has some excellent options for vegan or vegetarian guests! We offer vegetarian entrées for those guests requesting it, or we can design a customized vegetarian or vegan menu for the entire wedding. Additional costs may apply.

Do you offer organic and sustainable ingredients?

Kennolyn tries to use organic and sustainable ingredients whenever possible, but can design a customized menu or substitute specific ingredients to accommodate special requests. There may be additional costs associated with a more expensive ingredient, but this is dictated by the market rates at the time of the event.

When are the final guest count and payment due?

The final guest count is due 14 days prior to the event. Kennolyn will then generate an invoice, and the final payment is due 10 days before your event, payable in cash, cashier’s check, or credit card. For mailed in payments, please add 3 business days to your deadline to allow for processing.

Do I need to get any special event permits from the City of Santa Cruz?

At a private event venue in Santa Cruz County, you can skip the event permit you would otherwise need for hosting in a public space. The venue will guide you in observing any local noise ordinances and alcoholic beverage service restrictions.

The final guest count is due 14 days prior to the event. Kennolyn will then generate an invoice, and the final payment is due 10 days before your event, payable in cash, cashier’s check, or credit card. For mailed in payments, please add 3 business days to your payment deadline for processing.

Corporate Retreats and Day Meetings

What are the fees associated with a meeting at Kennolyn?

Our pricing is an easy per-person structure that includes a continental breakfast, luncheon, and beverages throughout the day.

Day Meeting at Hilltop Hacienda : $3500 Facility fee plus $109.95** per person for food and beverages

Corporate Overnight Retreats at Stone Creek Village: $5500 Facility fee plus $150** per person, per day for meals and $325* per cabin (sleeps up to 3), with lodging for 30-65 guests.

What is the minimum number of guests for a day meeting?

Our Hilltop Hacienda Estate requires a minimum of 50 people for a day meeting and can accommodate up to 150.

What is the minimum number of guests for an overnight meeting or retreat?

Our Stone Creek Village requires a minimum of 30 people for an overnight retreat and can accommodate up to 65 guests in their own bed, or up to 123 if couples and families are sharing.

How many rooms are available for lodging?

There are 30 cabin cottages and suites in the Stone Creek Village. There are 11 rooms that have 2 double beds and 1 twin, 15 rooms that have 2 double beds, and 4 rooms that have one double bed—for a total of 67 beds (56 doubles and 11 twins). Included in this count is a house suite with 3 bedrooms, each with a double bed, and another house suite with 4 bedrooms, each with 2 double beds.

What technology resources and other amenities do you provide?

All AV equipment can be booked through a vendor for delivery and set up as you need it. You can count on exclusive use of the venue, versatile meeting rooms, planning and coordinating assistance, in-house gourmet catering, on-site lodging, free parking, reliable vendor recommendations, and integrated team-building opportunities.

Family and Other Retreats

What are the fees associated with a retreat at Kennolyn?

Stone Creek Village Family and Friends Weekend Retreat

Facility fee $5500, Lodging $325 per cabin, per night + $120** Family Meal Package per person, per day

What is the minimum number of guests for a retreat?

To reserve our Stone Creek Village for your retreat, we require a minimum of 30 adults, and the maximum is 120 (if couples and families are sharing cabins, otherwise, we have 65 individual beds).

Do you offer a discount for children?

Children under 16 do not pay for lodging if accompanied by two adults; their meal package is priced according to age. Children under 2 are free. Children 2-4 have a 50% discount from the meal package of $120 per day. Children 5–12 years old have $10 off each meal, so pay $90** per day for the catering package. And children 13 and older are counted toward the minimum guest count at the full catering package price.

How many rooms are available for lodging?

How are guests assigned to their rooms?

The host is responsible for assigning their guests to cabin cottages and suites. Your event coordinator will provide a chart and offer guidance.

What are the arrival and departure times?

Arrival is no earlier than 4:00 PM and departure is by 11:00 AM.

What are the service fee and sales tax amounts?

*A 20% service fee is added to the catering and beverage prices. Currently, *sales tax is 9% and lodging tax is 11% plus $1.90/room per night. Per California sales tax code, all service fees are subject to sales tax.

When is Kennolyn available for retreat reservations?

Stone Creek Village is available for retreats during May, June, September, and October.

How many meals are included in the meal package?

A total of 3 meals per day and non-alcoholic beverages are included. The host pre-selects the catering for the weekend from our menu.

How far are you located from San Francisco?

Kennolyn is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains, roughly a 90-minute drive away from San Francisco off of the scenic Highway 1. We are only about 45 minutes outside of San Jose.
