Outdoor weddings are the trend for 2019. After a long, harsh winter, brides and grooms plan to reclaim their place in the beauty of nature. While it is quite normal for a wedding to take place in outdoor venues, wine vineyards, beautiful parks, and along bodies of water, in summer and spring, brides refuse to blend with the traditional yet lovely color selections. Your go-to palette for 2019 will give you some fabulous, unexpected selections.

Bridesmaids & Groomsmen

Before we can address the flowers for this year, we have to talk about another trend for 2019; we must mention that you will see many shades of green. There will be shades of green in the flowers, but there will also be shades of green everywhere. Some of the hottest bridesmaid dresses are in sea-mist, sage, very pale lime, and light colored bridesmaid gowns with tiny flowers with green leaves.

Groomsmen will be dressed in casual but daring looks. They will in most cases match their pants to the colors of the bridesmaids’ gowns. In some cases they will wear green shirts with dark jackets and slacks; depending on the style of the wedding theme, look for multi color ties that feature the colors of the flowers.

Bridal Gowns

For the past two seasons, brides have worn dresses that were so sheer and so sexy, that the guests blushed. This season, we are seeing more traditional gowns. Trumpet and mermaid gowns are the dresses of the year. They are very sexy in an understated way. The flare of the trumpet or mermaid cut is exaggerated and the gowns are very form fitting. The sweetheart necklines are a bit more than we are used to seeing. Look for very deep cleavage cuts.

You will be seeing fewer white and ivory gowns. Look for brides in pale champagne, very light purple, and gowns with the slightest hint of blue. Perhaps the most surprising color of bridal gowns this year is pastel pink.

Flowers

This is the year of purple. Wedding bouquets are a perfect example. Even in a bouquet of roses, expect to see a bright purple bloom.

Venues

There is always a variety of venues that weddings to select. Selections include:

  • Beaches
  • Hotels
  • Churches
  • Cathedrals
  • Chapels
  • Vineyards
  • Backyards
  • Parks
  • Golf Courses
  • Barns

There is little doubt that every one of these venues will be popular again this year. However, we are seeing a rise in weddings being booked in mountain areas. There are lovely mountain chalets that make for a romantic honeymoon. There are beautiful mountainsides, valleys, and even homestead towns in places like the Smokey Mountains, or the Rockies.

Destination weddings can be booked in cities that people travel to annually for a view of nature, found nowhere else. Guests can stay in hotels in town, while the bride and groom travel up the mountain to their private paradise. These hotels are complete with hot tubs on beautiful wooden decks, gorgeous master baths where the wooden shutters open to expose the entire wall, and bathtubs built for two, with a view of complete privacy. Some of the cabins are built near mountain streams. At night, the sky is like black velvet. The stars shine so brightly that you feel you could reach up and touch one.
