Weddings are a celebration of love. We gather our closest relatives and friends to honor the role they’ve played in our lives and celebrate the place they’ll have in our future. Kennolyn’s Stone Creek Village venue has is the perfect backdrop for a relaxing and intimate wedding destination weekend. If you’ve always dreamed of saying your vows in a scenic forest setting, but would still like to provide your guests with the comfort of home, here are 7 reasons why Stone Creek Village might be the venue for you.
Hiking, patio games, fire-side lounging, and sports- there’s an activity for any age at StoneCreek. Let Kennolyn staff worry about catering, decorating, and staging allowing you the opportunity to be completely present for every moment.

Stone Creek offers equal parts nature and comfort by providing cozy lodging, warm meals, and paved walkways throughout. By having the entire property to yourselves for the weekend, your guests will have every comfort at their fingertips while enjoying Stone Creek’s remote location. Warm coffee in a redwood grove every morning? Yes, please. Not to mention stunning wedding photos of you and your loved ones eating s’mores by the campfire, leisurely strolling down a forest trail, and dancing the night away under market lights in the town square.
Forests and hikes
Did we mention the redwoods yet? Transport guests to an enchanted California forest scene without having to hike for miles. The mossy forest floor, singing birds, and sunlit trees add a romantic element that’s hard to find in common wedding venues. There is a trail for everyone! From challenging trails to leisurely strolls our grounds allow each guest to enjoy the coastal redwoods in their comfort zone. No stroll complete without a banana slug-sighting – a trail highlight here at Kennolyn!
The beauty of Santa Cruz is that the forest ultimately gives way to sandy shores. Tide pooling, surfing, and sunbathing are all just minutes away from Stone Creek Village. Whether your guests have arrived early or want to vacation later, scenic Santa Cruz beaches have long been considered world-class. What a great bonus!
Taking time to plan for a destination wedding can sometimes feel cumbersome, especially when booking hotels and making restaurant reservations. Coordinating with friends and family can be challenging, especially when everyone’s traveling from long distances. Stone Creek Village offers a perfect solution by providing all accommodations for an entire weekend on-site. Meals are shared in the main lodge, cabins are centrally located and easy to visit, and the reception is a short walk from the ceremony site. The entire weekend is offered in a neat, pre-planned bundle, keeping loose ends to a minimum.
Wedding days happen so fast. Or, at least they SEEM to when you’re busy focusing on the day’s schedule, trying to herd your guests to the right places at the right time, and trying to touch base with your many vendors. Wouldn’t it be nice to take it slow? Stone Creek’s three day timeline gives you plenty of time to unwind and focus on what’s important- spending quality time with loved ones. Our coordinators, culinary team, and event staff are more than happy to take care of the logistics, clearing your to-do list and leaving time to make lasting memories with family. So clear your mind, breathe in the mountain air, and watch as your wedding weekend becomes so much more than just the ceremony.
Stone Creek Village is a short 15 minute drive up a hillside road from Soquel, a quaint suburb of Santa Cruz. There’s a major grocery store, pharmacy, and variety of shops in Soquel in case your guests need anything they may have forgotten at home. The nearest airport, San Jose International Airport, is 20 miles away while San Francisco International Airport is 60 miles away. Each airport offers a number of quality shuttles to and from location. For guests staying off-property, Capitola and Santa Cruz offer a wide variety of hotel and Airbnb options. The day of the wedding, guests staying off-property are permitted to park in our main parking lot or utilize shuttle services to transport themselves to the property.
