Resident Camp Session 1

Session 1 is a favorite because it includes Fouth of July! We also have some very cool KC Select opportunities available.

Week 1 Schedule

  • Sunday June 22nd. -Arrival and check in between 1pm-3pm.


  • Monday June 23rd. -Activity Day -Evening Activity: Campfire


  • Tuesday June 24th -Activity Day -Younger campers depart for outpost at 5pm.


  • Wednesday June 25th -Younger campers on outpost (return to camp at 3:00pm,) older campers have Free Choice morning and Water Carnival in the afternoon. Older campers depart for outpost at 5pm.


  • Thursday June 26th -Older campers on outpost (return to camp at 3:00pm,) younger campers have Free Choice morning and Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk in the afternoon. Evening Activity: Dance/Movie


  • Friday June 27th -Activity Day -Evening Activity: Campfire


  • Saturday June 28th -Activity Day -Evening Activity: Campfire


  • Sunday June 29th -Beach Day -Evening Activity: International Night

    • Week 2 Schedule

  • Monday June 30th -Activity Day -Older campers depart for outpost at 5pm.


  • Tuesday July 1st -Older campers on outpost (return to camp at 3:00pm,) younger campers have Free Choice morning and Water Carnival in the afternoon. Younger campers depart for outpost at 5pm.


  • Wednesday July 2nd -Younger campers on outpost (return to camp at 3:00pm,) older campers have Free Choice morning and Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk in the afternoon.


  • Thursday July 3rd -Activity Day -Evening Activity: Dance/Movie


  • Friday July 4th -Special Fourth of July Celebration. Bring something red, white,and blue and dress for fun!


  • Saturday July 5th -Closing Day. -8:30am-12:00pm Closing ceremony and activity time. -Lunch served at 1:00pm.



    In addition to the normal activities Kennolyn offers we also give campers the chance to try NEW out of the ordinary activities and in-depth instruction in our exciting KC Select program. These professional level activities are available each session at Resident Camp and at some Day Camp sessions. KC Select offers you the best of both worlds; a strong, traditional camp program combined with specialized activities and adventures that are designed to excite!

    Surfing Campers commit their three morning activity periods on activity days to receive two full hours of surfing instruction in the water with professional instructors. Club-Ed provides our professional instruction. They instruct our campers on how to learn to ride waves and experience the healthy, exciting sport of surfing! Club-Ed's surfing school is the most respected surfing school in the world. This popular option sells out every summers. Campers go to a quiet, out of the way beach, which makes it a safe place for our campers to learn away from the Santa Cruz crowds. Wetsuit and surfboard rentals are included in KC Select fee of $450. Offered to campers entering 7th grade and higher.

    Trapeze
    Each summer our friends at Trapeze Arts build a full size trapeze right at StoneCreek Village. Trapeze is available as a single activity period KC Select option. Participants will start by learning the very basics including applicable safety procedures and swinging on the trapeze. From there they will move to a knee hang and will then be ready to "make the catch. which means swinging by your knees on one bar, reaching out and connecting with the hands of the catcher who is hanging by his knees on another bar, how exciting! Safety lines, a net and experienced instructors are on hand at all times. This is our most popular KC Select activity and is offered to campers entering 2nd grade and higher..

    Adventure

    This may be the most exciting of all Kennolyn activities. Adventure Campers participate in the following activities (subject to change) in their two week session:

  • Hilltop Ropes Course


  • White Water rafting or Kayaking    (Overnight trip)


  • Mountain Biking


  • Indoor Rock Wall Climbing


  • Sea Kayaking


  • Surfing


  • Trapeze


    • This program is organized and led by Evan Lloyd, husband of our long time Assistant Director, Allison Lloyd.

    It is important to note that Adventure Campers do not participate in Outpost with their regular cabin group and will miss some regular camp events while they are on their amazing adventures.
